DISINFO: Zelenskyy and Soros plan to poison Ukraine's fertile lands to sabotage the grain deal

SUMMARY

An anonymous senior Ukrainian official has made public a confidential agreement between the Soros Foundation and the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Soros Foundation served as an intermediary between the office of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Western chemical companies such as Vitol, Dow Chemical, DuPont. They reached an agreement to bury toxic chemical waste on the territory of Ukraine. The fertile black soils of western Ukraine were chosen for the burial of chemical waste. This could significantly affect the quality of grain grown in this country and cause famine in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

RESPONSE

Disinformation attempt disguised as a French journalistic investigation to discredit Zelenskyy and Ukraine using the figure of Soros and western Chemical and pharmaceutical companies.

The story started from a Twitter account active only since mid-November 2023 from a person who has the same name as a journalist from French newspaper "Liberation" specialised in environmental matters. According to the pro-Kremlin media outlet, this person was contacted by a source inside the Ministry of Environment of Ukraine who would have denounced a secret Ukrainian presidential decree (Ukaz) granting a total of 400 km2 to Western chemical and pharmaceutical companies, which George Soros would possess following a discussion between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Alexander Soros. The name of the French journalist was then changed to Jules Vincennes by Russian media.

There are serious doubts about whether the recent Twitter account that published this investigation belongs to a real French journalist specialised in the environment, as their voice has a noticeably foreign accent and they make language mistakes different from those made by native French speakers.

Moreover, the document published in Ukrainian is without a doubt a forgery, likely created by individuals who do not speak Ukrainian fluently, as it contains basic errors that the office of the Ukrainian President would not make.

The fact that only pro-Kremlin media outlets have publicised this 'investigation' raises doubts about its authenticity and whether it comes from a legitimate French source or a genuine Ukrainian insider.

Narratives claiming that Ukrainian lands are being transferred to American companies for the purpose of stealing their grain, polluting, or developing biological weapons are common within the pro-Kremlin infosphere.
