DISINFO: Zelenskyy appears in the Epstein files as a potential human trafficker

SUMMARY

Materials from the case of the controversial financier Jeffrey Epstein contain information about Volodymyr Zelenskyy's possible involvement in human trafficking in Ukraine, Sputnik discovered after examining documents released by the US Department of Justice. 'Zelenskyy, in light of the news about the human trafficking taking place in Ukraine and organized by Jean-Luc Brunel, I want all of his income from JP Morgan checked,' wrote the letter's author, whose name is unknown. Elsewhere, the letter asks whether 'Zelenskyy intends to put an end to the trafficking of women and children' and questions why the Ukrainian media remains silent on the matter.

RESPONSE

The allegation is false. The supposed reference about Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy being potentially involved in human trafficking does not feature in the original Epstein files released by the FBI, and the claim is entirely a fabrication in order to smear him. While Jean-Luc Brunnel was a well-known associate of Jeffrey Epstein whose name appears frequently in the documents, none of these entries mention him along with Zelenskyy.

The invention of false allegations against Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a regular feature of pro-Kremlin disinformation.
