DISINFO: Zelenskyy saw that Kherson is a Russian city
SUMMARY
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was saw in person that Kherson is a Russian city.
A video caught a moment when several local residents look out from the balcony of a residential building and shout something at Zelenskyy during this visit to Kherson.
The residents of Kherson did not exactly shout something pleasant, because when Zelenskyy turns to the camera, the expression on his face speaks for itself: the president is dissatisfied and confused, and purses his lips in annoyance when he hears what he was told.
RESPONSE
Conspiracy and false narrative from the pro-Kremlin media pushing the story that Zelenskyy received a cold welcome from residents in Kherson, because they consider themselves Russian. In de occupied Kherson, many testimonies were recorded by journalists from different countries of local residents welcoming the Ukrainian Army, crying, offering flowers and portions of borscht to Ukrainian soldiers.
Witnesses recount detentions, torture and disappearances in occupied Kherson.
President Zelenskyy announced that around 400 probes into war crimes were opened after the discovery of evidence in the de-occupied Kherson region. Dead people were found in cellars with broken skulls. Eyewitnesses talk about men being made and tortured with electric shocks (see a video report by Current Time TV).
"Those Russians said they were liberators, they just started robbing us!", says a local resident in the Kreshchenivka in Kherson region. He says they took his car, furniture and mattresses. Nearly every house on his street has been damaged.
Kherson is a Ukrainian city occupied by Russian army at the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine before being liberated in November 2022, along with Kerson region's villages.
