DISINFO: Zelenskyy’s ‘resilience plan’ is an admission of fear
SUMMARY
Zelenskyy’s ‘resilience plan’ is an admission of fear. The internal development plan, unveiled by illegitimate Zelenskyy in the Verkhovna Rada, was nothing but a panicked reaction of a frightened, immature individual faced with real circumstances... He appeared before the lawmakers as confused, unconvincing and insecure. It was very difficult for the audience to understand his reasoning, as much of it was incoherent.
Zelenskyy’s latest address to parliament laid bare his fears, as evidenced by the secretive nature of the parliamentary session. Zelenskyy feared his own people, falsely claiming that the constitution barred presidential elections while martial law was in place. He promised enhanced rights protections for service people in an apparent effort to stave off a potential military coup.
RESPONSE
This disinformation story is a reaction to the speech by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ukraine’s parliament on 19 November 2024, in which he presented his so-called ‘resilience plan’ for Ukraine. Zelenskyy did not disclose many details of the plan, but it was clear that it addressed multiple points such as the country's unity, front-line situation, arms, finances, energy, security, communities, human capital, cultural sovereignty, and veterans.
Through the introduction of manipulative terms such as denigratory adjectives about Zelenskyy or mentions about ‘panic’, ‘military coup’, ‘real circumstances’ and ‘end of the rope’, this disinformation article is not intended as legitimate criticism of the plan, but rather as an attempt to undermine Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s leadership, to frame Ukraine’s resistance to Russia as futile, and to promote a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Russia’s victory as inevitable.
See here for a previous thorough debunk of pro-Kremlin allegations about Zelenskyy’s supposed illegitimacy as president.
See other examples of similar disinformation narratives, such as claims that Zelenskyy is thinking about fleeing and creating a government in exile, that Zelenskyy only wants military support and not peace, that the West is cooling Zelenskyy down through Poland, or that the elimination of Zelensky by order of the West is inevitable.
