Russian Journalism as Part of the Solution

RT, Sputnik, Pervy Kanal, NTV and Rossiya – Russian state-controlled media have given Russian journalism a problematic reputation globally.

However, there is also another kind of Russian journalism: professionals who dare to challenge their own government’s disinformation using critical reporting, fact-checking and journalistic investigations.

In four interviews with independent journalists it becomes evident that a part of Russia’s civil society shares the international concerns over the Kremlin’s media manipulations.

Their examples show that Russian journalism does not have to be a part of the disinformation problem: it can also be a part of the solution.
